Greetings Fellow Hikers
Here is the end of season trail report for the 200 kilometres of trails that Nastawgan works on. The 30 kilometres of Lundy township trails are 90 percent cleared. The Hermit Lake trails are cleared. The Kichi Zibi trail is ok but with be re-cleared this week. The O.T.H trail from Latchford to Rabbit Lake road has been cleared. The Cliff Lake side trail, Friday Lake side trail, Copper Lake side trail, Beaver Mt side trail, and the Bryan Lake Roosevelt Lake side trail, Fat Lake side trail and Lowdown Lake side trail have all been cleared. The O.T.H trail from Thorne to Rabbit Lake road has been cleared on the Porcupine Creek canyon section and from Green Creek to Ottertail Creek. Hikers will encounter plenty of blowdowns on the 15 kilometres north of Ottertail Creek. Lowdown Creek crossing now involves wading through knee deep water, stepping up onto a two log floating bridge over the deep channel and then wading through flooded grassland to higher ground. You will need a partner to hold the logs to keep them from spinning. Look for improvements next May.
Thanks to everyone who helped on day long trail clearing trips and a special thanks to Les, Marsha, Mike, Natalia, Tyler, Charles, Barry, and Amy who took part in the overnight trips.
Happy Trails ~ Murray
